Traffic on one of New Delhi's main thoroughfares has to swerve around the masonry slab that marks a Muslim saint's grave; the Delhi Golf Club fairways have royal tombs as unique hazards.

Qutub Minar: The 72.5 mts. high tower dates back to the 13th century and is one of important Islamic building. It's base has the first mosque in India, Quwwatul-Islam Masjid. A rust free Iron pillar for 1500 yrs. in its compund. Folklore says, if you can touch your fingers with your back on the pillar, your wish will be fulfilled. 25 minutes.

Connaught Place: A major shopping centre of New Delhi, built in horse-shoe pattern,  coencitric circles in 1931 when capital shifted from Calcutta to Delhi  Many bargains can be had here. 25 minutes. Jama Masjid: The largest mosque in India, stands across the road from the Red Fort. Built in 1656, is a defining part of the Old Delhi along with Red Fort. Red Fort:  Built in 1648 by Emperor Shah Jahan, who built Taj Mahal. Every Independence day the Prime Minister unfurls the national flag. 25 minutes. Jantar Mantar: An astronomical observatory with masonary instruments. Built in 1724 by Jai Singh, astronomer king. A similar construction exists in Jaipur. 22 minutes.
Humayun's Tomb: 15 minutes Humayun was the second Mughal (or Mogul) emperor. The son of Babur and father of Akbar, he died in 1556.  More ...
